He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia A. (Donahue); his parents, William E. Seekell and Grace Seekell (Levy); and his siblings, William E. Seekell Jr., Grace Cummings and Jacqueline Goldman.

He is survived by: his children, John Seekell (MyraBeth Hoban) of Pocasset and Dorey Gallagher (Paul) of Scituate; and his grandchildren, Daniel Seekell, Justin Jones, Frances and Grace Gallagher.

In his nineties he started performing stand-up comedy for various charity events.
