He was predeceased by: his grandson Jonathan Fernau; his parents, George Lavigne and Virginia Lavigne; his stepmother Anna Lavigne; his siblings, Roseanne Costa, George Lavigne II, William Lavigne and John Lavigne; and his nephews, George Lavigne III, Chucky Lavigne, Christopher Boyce and Nicholas Boyce.

He is survived by: his wife Lidwina (Ludy); his daughters, Tonya (Sean Joyce) of Rochester and Jaime Lavigne of Taunton; his grandchildren, Christopher Lavigne of Newport News, VA and Madison Aguiar; his great grandchild Christopher John Guilmette (CJ) of Fall River; and his siblings, Charles (Patricia Lavigne) of Nashua, NH and Claire (Richard Ferreira) of Dighton.
