He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel and Idilia; and his son Joaquin "Jack" Pereira Jr.. He is survived by: his close friend Catherine L. Gilmore; his daughter Aaliyah Pereira (Clara) of Franklin; his siblings, Clarissa Rogers of South Carolina, Manuel Pereira of Easton and Luisa Bassett; and his aunt Carlotta Acevedo of Taunton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
