He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Soares Dechaves and Maria DaGloria Chaves; and his brother Joe Chaves. He is survived by: his wife Maria Olivia Braga Chaves; his children, Dennis Chaves (Erin Smith), Nancy DaSilva (Brian) and Kimberly Chaves (Matt Rodrigues); his grandchildren, Colin, Colleen, Ray, Sophia, Lillian and Daisy; his great grandchildren, Kayden and Kyriee; and his brothers, Manuel Chaves and Antonio Chaves. He is also survived by many sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, god children and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar Silva Funeral Home (80 Broadway, Taunton, MA 02780). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 8:30 AM at the Silva Funeral Home (80 Broadway, Taunton, MA 02780). A Mass will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Calendar St. Anthony Church (126 School St, Taunton, MA 02780).
