He was predeceased by: his wife Diane Mulhern; his parents, Andrew J. Mulhern, and Bernice Mulhern, Sr. (Smith); his siblings, Rita C. Ferreira, Andrew J. Mulhern Jr., John B. "Johnny" Mulhern, Alice T. Letourneau and Mary J. Oliver; and his stepson Jon Hartel.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Mulhern Jr. and James Mulhern; and his stepson Gary Gonsalves. He is also survived by several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
