It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria E. Moniz of Taunton, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 1, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Fernando Leite Moniz; her parents, Manuel Evelina of Melo Rezendes and Maria Evelina; and her brother Manuel Rezendes. She is survived by: her children, Maria G. Petraitis, Fernando P. Moniz (Kathy), Rita Moniz and Michael Moniz; her siblings, Cidalia Silva, Gilberto Rezendes, Otilia Amaral and Connie Dias; her grandchildren, Justin Petraitis (Jessica), Jennifer Petraitis, Colby Moniz, Kaylee Moniz and Shelby; and her great grandchild Claire. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home (350 Somerset Ave, Taunton, MA 02780). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Anthony Church (126 School St, Taunton, MA 02780). A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at the Saint Joseph Cemetery (475 E Britannia St, Taunton, MA 02780).
