She was predeceased by: her parents, Denis Canny and Mary Canny (Friel); her husband Jeff O'Brien; and her sisters, Margaret Ledford, Cecelia Sullivan, Mary Falvey and Catherine Gubbins.
She is survived by: her daughters, Mariann O'Brien of Tewksbury, Nancy Wheeler of Wellesley and Patricia DeFeo (Richard) of Walkertown, NC.; her sisters, Frances Maher of Woburn and Elizabeth Canny of Medford; her grandchildren, Stephanie Hunter (Terrance), Kyle DeFeo (Allison) and Ryan DeFeo; her sister-in-law Hazel O'Brien of Wilmington; and her cousin Margaret Friel of Malden. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Nichols Funeral Home (187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Dorothy's Church (11 Harnden St, Wilmington, MA 01887).
