He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene T. Girard and Rose A. Girard (Desautels); his stepdaughter Sherry Margeson; and his siblings, Wallace Girard, Charles Girard, Pearl Pearson and Ernestine Hilliard.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Girard (Lucier); his children, James M. Girard of Mashpee, Donna J. Girard of Erving, Lynn M. Wasielewski (Ted) of Montague and Gerald C. Girard (Lisa) of Monson; and his stepchildren, R. Douglas Stanclift (Susan), Kelly Savory (Gary), Paula Hudon and Jane Ingalls. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 13 step-great grandchildren, as well as many extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the McCarthy Funeral Homes (14 Prospect St, Turners Falls, MA 01376). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
