He was predeceased by: his parents, Aguster Speight and Lillie Speight (Moore); his siblings, Aguster Speight, Jr. (Estella Mae) and Queen James; and his siblings-in-law, Robert McClellan, Jimmy Beasley and Gayle Speight.

He is survived by: his wife Lindsay Speight (Featherstone); his son Carl Lee Speight, Jr. of Webster; his siblings, Melissa Beauregard, Emmitt Speight, Maggie McClellan, Robert Speight (Sharron), Lonnie Speight (Sondra), Katherine Bush (Alfred), Evoine Beasley, Charles Speight, Curtis Speight (Chittaphone), Donnie Speight, Latrice Cheney (Steven SR), Douglas Speight (Nancy) and Nathanial Speight; his brother-in-law OJ James; his parents-in-law, Donna and Dennis "Buzzy" Featherstone; and his siblings-in-law, Amy Finlay (James) and Daniel Featherstone (Brett Powers, MD). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
