He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sheila McCabe (Hegarty); his son Patrick McCabe of Walpole; and his sisters, Eileen McCabe of Lynn, Patricia Stratton (Christopher) of Duxbury and Mary Cassiano (Jesus). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home (2055 Centre St, West Roxbury, MA 02132). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Name Church (1689 Centre St, Boston, MA 02132).
