He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sisters, Sarah Blanchard of Plymouth, Helen Howard of Walpole and Tina Betro of Wrentham; his children, Thomas Betro (Amy) of Franklin, Maureen Barrett (Jeff) of Marion, Diane Barsomian (Jim) of Mansfield, Carolyn Turner (Mike) of Wrentham, Suzanne Rockwood (Paul) of Walpole, Pamela O'Meara (Kevin), Joseph Betro (Heather) of Williamsburg, VA, Daniel Betro of Quincy, Cassandra Betro and Melissa Madden of Foxboro; his grandchildren, Kevin Sullivan (Leigh), Michael Sullivan (Heather), Courtney, Tyler, Zachary Betro, Jeffrey, Andrew, Stephanie Barrett, Kenneth, Matthew, Michael Barsomian, Jennifer McGrail (Michael), Katherine Turner, Elizabeth DePierro (Brandon), Joseph Rockwood (Leah), Bryan Rockwood (Rachel), William, Molly Rockwood, Meghan, Jack, Kelly O'Meara, Thomas, Daniel Betro, Bradley, Victoria Madden and AJ Betro; his great grandchildren, Fisher and Riley Sullivan; and his grandchildren, Delia Sullivan and Colton Barsomian.

Joe was named Man of the Year by the Walpole Friends of Christopher Columbus in 1997, in recognition of his contributions to the Walpole Community.
