He is survived by : his wife Susan Poirier (O'Brien); his children, Robert R. Jr. (Kimberly), Amy and Kevin (Ryan Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Jacob; his stepsons, Michael (Paula), James and Joseph Russo; and his siblings, Carol, Rich and Evie. He is also survived by his parents, brothers, or sisters.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert's name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
