He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick and Mary F. Tarpy (Haddock); his wife Mary Ann Tarpy (Wood); his siblings, Edward (late Helen), William (late Rita), Robert (late Ruth) and Margaret Bishop (late Freeman); and his nephews, Randy Tarpy and Kenneth Bishop.

He is survived by: his sibling's children, Brenda Quinn, Andrea Macauley, Cheryl Nelsen (Grant), Maryann Donnelly (Phil), Judith Sampson (Al), Richard Tarpy, Stephen Tarpy (Cheryl), Robert Tarpy (Michelle) and Paul Tarpy; and his close friend Mary P. Starkey of Norwood.
