He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Samuel E. Leard and Edna M. Leard (Rideout); and his sister Barbara Norris. He is survived by: his wife Jane C. Welch; his children, Jennifer A. McCafferty (David) of Berlin and Thomas S. Leard (Kim Mahoney) of Reading; his grandchildren, Matthew McCafferty, Amelia Olszewski and Luke Leard; his brother John S. Leard (Elaine) of Venice, Florida; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Purcell of Auburndale, Margaret Welch and E. Joan Mente. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
