With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jacquelyn Roper Sawyer (Webster, Massachusetts), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John A. Sawyer, Jr.; her son John A. Sawyer, III; her siblings, William L. Roper, Sadie Roper, Ellen Hamlett, Elsie Spencer and Mary Davis; and her parents, Henry Lee and Rosalie Roper (Burrus).
She is survived by: her children, Jacquelyn Denise Sawyer of Woodstock, CT and Stephen Lee Sawyer (Shari) of Rocky Point, NC; her grandchildren, Jesse Sawyer (Eileen), Joseph Sawyer (Anna) and Oliver Lucas; her grandson-in-law Bryant; her grandchildren, John Ortiz Sawyer (Aimee), Dylan Sawyer, Morning Mariah Sawyer and Meagan Sawyer; and her siblings, Julianna Forbes of Elizabeth City, NC and Henry Lee Roper Jr. of Bristol, TN. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
