He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur H. Girard and Delina M. Girard (Woods); and his brothers, Arthur and George Girard. He is survived by: his caregiver Johnathan J. Stegeman; his sisters, Margaret "Peg" (Richard Sutton) of Warwick and Dee (Roland Planet) of Harrisville; and his sister-in-law Lisa Priestly. He is also survived by his family and close friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The military honors was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Scanion Funeral Service (38 E Main St, Webster, MA 01570).
