He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Henry and Marie-Jeanne Hurney (Bernier); and his siblings, Joseph Hurney and Margaret McDougle. He is survived by: his children, Paul (Loretta) and Elizabeth; and his grandson Nicholas of Newton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
