With solemn reverence, we commemorate Joseph P. Hanlon of Wellesley, Massachusetts, whose life came to an end on August 2, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius A. Hanlon and Esther Hanlon (MacLeod); and his siblings, Jerome Hanlon (Irene), Therese Kenney (William), Rosemary VanRye (Jack), Eunice Hanlon and Bernard Hanlon.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis M. Hanlon (Murphy); his children, Tara McHale (Kevin) of Bethesda, Melissa Kelley (Justin) of Medway and Brendan Hanlon of Charleston; his grandchildren, William, Joseph McHale, Erin, Lauren and Patrick Kelley; and his sister-in-law Mary Hanlon of Quincy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and life-long friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (3 Barber St, Medway, MA 02053). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Church (502 Washington St, Wellesley, MA 02482).
In lieu of flowers, Joe's family request that donations be made in his memory to the Joseph P. Hanlon Scholarship Award c/o Medway High School Guidance Dept., 88 Summer St., Medway, MA 02053.
