He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore and Beatrice. He is survived by: his wife Karen Devine (Varela); his pet Petey; his children, Jessica A. Thornton (Jonathan D. Thornton) of Southwick and Jonathan M. Reopelle of West Springfield; his grandchildren, Josephine Susan, Jensen John Thornton, Alexander and Diana Devine; and his stepson David Devine. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Springfield Park and Recreation Department, in his memory, to support youth sports.
