With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael A. Stawasz of West Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 17, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Max and Sally (Grzesik); and his brother Kenneth of Agawam, MA.. He is survived by: his wife Maxine Skypeck (Skypeck) of West Springfield, MA; his children, Michele (Jon Lorenz) of New Milford, CT, Marissa of Brooklyn, NY and Paul of Chicopee, MA; his grandson Evan Lorenz; and his brothers, Robert (Shirley) of Christchurch, Roger (Volker Ecke) of Northampton, MA, Chris (Randy Kinsler) of Morehead, Kentucky and Philip of Agawam, MA..
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home (2049 Northampton St, Holyoke, MA 01040). A procession will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Cross Church (Holy Cross Ave, Holyoke, MA 01040). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery (152 Pittroff Ave, South Hadley, MA 01075).
Mike was a dedicated blood and platelet donor for the American Red Cross for decades, some years donating as frequently as every 3 weeks.
