She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lanier and Evelyn Lanier (Talbot). She is survived by: her husband Denis Joyal; her children, Cynthia Walder (Brian) and Paul (Elizabeth); her grandchildren, Alaina Walder, Aaron, Brady, Brett Walder, Jahviel Rosario and Anzel Guzman Vila; and her brothers, William (Adele), Richard (Diane), Michael (Linda), Robert (Deena) and Kenneth (Idy). She is also survived by numerous first cousins, 24 nieces and nephews, 46 great nieces and nephews, and 13 great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home (1043 Westfield St, West Springfield, MA 01089). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Thomas Church (47 Pine St, West Springfield, MA 01089). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery (1390 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001).
