He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna McDonald and Donald McDonald; his sister Virginia McDonald; and his daughters, Sarah and Kelly McDonald.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen (Graham Jones) of Hingham, MA, Kevin (Jennifer McDonald) of Florence, MA, Sean (Erin McDonald) of Florence, MA, Maura McDonald (Melvin Arroyo) of West Springfield, MA and Erin McDonald (Kirk Vitello) of Swampscott, MA.; his grandchildren, Brady McDonald, Quinn McDonald, Riley McDonald, Teagan McDonald and Liam McDonald; and his siblings, David (Irene McDonald) of Greenfield, MA and Marie (Jack McConnell) of Centerville, MA.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
