He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur L. Smith and Eleanor Beckwith Smith; his siblings, Burton, Richard, Charles and Evelyn Wood; and his niece Heather Primett.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Allen-Smith; his children, Matthew (Kim) of Lebanon, CT, Martin of Westborough, Rebecca Welch (Rich) of Upton and Todd (Christy) of Walpole; his grandchildren, Erik Smith, Benjamin Smith, Sydney Welch, Timothy Welch, Brynn Smith, Mackenzie Smith and Jake Smith; his nieces and nephews, David Wood, Eleanor Dutcher, Traci, Todd and Paityn Hastings; his siblings-in-law, Anna Smith, Sandra Allen and Phil Allen; and his nephews, Mark and Brian Allen.
