It is with sadness that the passing of Barbara Simmitt of Westfield, Massachusetts is shared. Barbara, born on December 16, 1941, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Zielinski and Jessie Zielinski; her brother James Zielinski; and her grandson Brandon Simmitt. She is survived by: her sister Mary Ann Pratt; her husband Francis J. Simmitt; her children, Cheryl Parody (Michael Parody), John Simmitt (Basia Simmitt), Teresa Mason (Paul Mason) and Scott Simmitt (Rosemary Simmitt); and her grandchildren, Lauren Knight, Tyler Simmitt, Ethan Atkocaitis, Benjamin Parody, Madison Atkocaitis, Ryan Simmitt and Ashleigh Simmitt. She is also survived by step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Casmir's Church (34 State St, Westfield, MA 01085).
