She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Sternala and Katherine Sternala (Dymon); and her spouse Fabian D. Nomakeo. She is survived by: her children, Robert J. Nomakeo (Sandi) of Easthampton, Anthony T. Nomakeo of East Granby, CT, Maureen E. Nomakeo of Westfield and Marsha A. Nomakeo of Waterbury, CT.; her grandchildren, Anthony, Marissa, Carly Rose and Dominick; her great grandchildren, Jolie, Brock, Collette, Camille, Benny, Knox and Elliette Irene; and her pets, Teddy and Mr Mew.

Donations in memory of Irene may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield, MA 01085.
