He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd B. Cogswell and Celia Mary Cogswell (Shepard); his wife Shirley Ann Cogswell; and his stepsons, Keith and David MacPhail.
He is survived by: his children, Heidi Whitman, Kristen Cogswell, Marya Pillifant and Debra Barrow (Dave); his stepdaughter Shannon MacPhail (late David); his grandchildren, Connor, Grant, Madeline Whitman, Ian Cogswell, Amelia, Jackson, Campbell Pillifant, Christopher, Benjamin, Kimberly, Bradley Barrow, Jessica MacPhail Garcia, Melissa MacPhail Droeske and Melanie MacPhail Burkhardt; his great grandchildren, Ellie and Flynn; and his pet Brownie.
