She was predeceased by: her parents, Waino "Whitey" Matilainen and Marion "Skippy" Matilainen (Skamarycz); and her son Adam J. Gauvin. She is survived by: her husband Albert J. Gauvin Jr.; her daughter Amy Abbott; her grandchildren, Alex Gauvin, Malakai Gauvin, Gavin Abbott and Luke Gauvin; and her siblings, Anne Halliday, Jane Schulz, Michael Matilainen and John Matilainen. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Martha's memory to Alyssa's Place, 297 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
