He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin J. Wirtanen and Jeannine Desrosiers; and his brothers, Danny, Billy and Michael.

He is survived by: his wife Christine; his daughters, Hannah Michaels (Dave) of Fitchburg, MA, Elizabeth Wirtanen (Walter Bettencourt) of Pelham, NH and Olivia Lucier (Zack) of Westminster, MA.; his grandchildren, Baylie Gene, Landon, Ryan, Charlotte and Brett; and his siblings, John, Eddie, Anna, Lisa, Kathy and Roberta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
