He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Karen; his sons, Brendan (Kate), Peter (Erin) and Colin; his grandchildren, Sam, Eloise, Finnian, Nolan, Edith and Sean; his parents, John Harley and Catherine Harley; his children, Margaret (O'Shaughnessy), John and Anne (Cahill); and his cousin David Hanrahan.
In lieu of flowers, he asked people to support institutions important to him: the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
