He was predeceased by : his wife Cecile B. Fontaine (Bernier); his parents, Ernest Fontaine and Lillian Fontaine (Levitre); his children, Donald A. Fontaine and Diane Melanson (late Gregory); and his siblings, Rhea Proulx and Russel F. Fontaine.

He is survived by : his daughters, Denise (Fontaine) and Goulart (Francis) of Raynham, MA; and his sister Joan Marques of Westport, MA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
