It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Brendan McCarthy of Westwood, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James McCarthy and Breda McCarthy (O'Sullivan); and his wife Mary (Fitzpatrick). He is survived by: his children, Joanne Butterfield (Andrew) of Westwood and Jamie McCarthy (Shannon) of Walpole; his grandchildren, Milo Butterfield, Cora Butterfield, Claire McCarthy and Brenna McCarthy; and his siblings, Maura McCarthy, Donal McCarthy (Ann), Margaret Condon (Eamon), Anne Brown (Gary) and Leo McCarthy (Tara). He is also survived by many loving sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.
