He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice C. "Betty" Abbis (Sullivan); his son Joseph P. Abbis Jr. (Pauline) of Bellingham; and his sister Loretta Donovan (Abbis). He is survived by: his daughter Anne Marie Sylvester (Stanley) of Westwood; his grandchildren, Joseph Abbis, Karen and Michael Sylvester; and his siblings, Elizabeth Steele (Dominic) of Newton, Anthony and John (Arthur Abbis). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
