He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Frances Cavanaugh (Kennedy); and his brother Rev. Michael Cavanaugh. He is survived by: his son Joe Cavanaugh (Lorraine) of Medfield; and his brother Barney Cavanaugh. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
