He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Dunbar and Ann Dunbar (Farmer); and his brothers, Arthur and Edward. He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Dunbar (Savoie); his children, Kristen Palmer (Ed) of South Weymouth, Kara Willis (Michael) of Abington, Bob Broderick Jr. (Freda) of Florida, Kathy Prisco of Abington and Tracey Haddad (Paul) of Bridgewater; and his sister Bonnie Hovey of Arizona. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shepherd Funeral Homes (134 Pleasant St, Weymouth, MA 02190). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Church (234 Pleasant St, Weymouth, MA 02190).
He was a gifted athlete and is very well-known in Weymouth for his contributions to the Weymouth High School sports programs.
