He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smith and Beatrice Smith (Walsh); and his brothers, Arthur Smith and Robert Smith. He is survived by: his wife Susan Oliverio (Oliverio) of Weymouth; his children, Marianne "Mam" Smith of New York, William "Billy" Smith (Kathryn) of Rome, Tara Stark (John) of Wisconsin, Molly Oliverio (Andrew Fleming) of New York and Evelyn "Evy" Oliverio of New York; and his grandchildren, Drew Freimanis (Kara Dubria) of New York, Lucia of Rome, Dennis Smith of Rome, Raina Keller of Texas, Mia Keller of Washington, DC and Layla Stark of Wisconsin.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home North Weymouth (40 Sea St, Quincy, MA 02169). A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - North Starts (40 Sea St, Quincy, MA 02169). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Jerome Church (632 Bridge St, North Weymouth, MA 02191).
