He was predeceased by: his wife Edith (Spurrier); and his parents, Harry Lawson and Mary Eileen Lawson. He is survived by: his children, Amy Lawson, Karen (Michael Morad) of Weymouth and Patrick Lawson; and also Grace (Gosse). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
