We are sad to announce that on May 8, 2026, at the age of 79, James M. Barr of Weymouth, Massachusetts passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alan Barr and Gertrude Barr (Snow); and his sister Diane McQuarrie. He is survived by: his nephew Eric MacQuarrie; and his niece Susan Moody of Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home (134 Pleasant St, Weymouth, MA 02190). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Blue Hill Cemetery (700 West St, Braintree, MA 02184).
