She was predeceased by: her sister Lois Bates Green; and her parents, Russell T. and Gretchen Bates (Walker) of Quincy. She is survived by: her husband James Bristol, Jr. (Jim); her children, Mary Jo Gregg (Brad), Janet Bristol (Frank Snow) of Scituate, Amy Webb (Greg) of Norwell, James Bristol III (Beth Durant) of Weymouth and David Bristol (Joanie) of Hanover; her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Bryan, Amy Beth, Brittany, Emily, John, Heather, Curtis, Gretchen, Ryan, Jake, Steve, Chase, Sam and James; her great grandchildren, Elliot, Christopher, Kokoro, Asa, Lilah and Leo; and her sister Betty McCord of Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer research via the Pan Mass Challenge: for Team Walk On (riders include some of Mary's grandchildren).
