He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Tapper and Louise Tapper (Sylvester). He is survived by: his children, Richard S. Tapper, Sgt. Det, P. D. (Jennifer) of Weymouth, David P. Tapper (Maureen) of Quincy and James B. Tapper (Suzanne) of Braintree; his brothers, Robert Tapper of Colorado and Steven Tapper of Brockton; his girlfriend Maureen A. Wilkinson; his girlfriend's daughters, Kathleen Dyer (Douglas) of Middleboro and Maureen Simard (Peter) of Plymouth; and also Lucinda "Cindie" Morrill Brown (late Daniel J. Brown) of Weymouth. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family requests that those attending Dick's services wear a mask or face covering.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Quincy Youth Hockey Association, 60 Murphy Memorial Drive, Quincy, MA 02169.
