He was predeceased by: his parents, Elva Puopolo (Gowell) and Albert Puopolo; his sisters, Bette Spain and Barbara; his brother-in-law Phil Ford; his brother Albert Puopolo; his niece Jacqueline Ford; and his pets, Miranda, Keisha and JD.

He is survived by: his siblings, Arthur Puopolo and Elva; his brothers-in-law, Roger Young and Stanley Spain; his siblings' children, Phillip, Leesa and Roger; his great-nephew William; his great-niece Lillian; his wife Deborah Puopolo (Hemphill); his grandchildren, Corinne, Ava, Nico and Dante; and also, Rene Puopolo Smith, Tim Smith, Rachel Puopolo and Anthony LaRocco.
