He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Joyce and Rose Joyce (Duffy); his wife Helene J. Joyce (Skarbinski); his daughter Maureen Heffernan; and his brothers, John Joyce, William Joyce, Edward Joyce and Richard Joyce.
He is survived by: his children, James M. Joyce of South Boston, Suzanne Joyce of Braintree, Brenda Joyce of Braintree, Patricia Donovan of Braintree and Thomas E. Joyce; his grandchildren, Katie, Kelly, James (Kimberly), Emily, Abigail, Claudia and Joseph; his great grandchildren, Grayson, Andrew and Penelope; his siblings, Maureen Swanson of Concord, Francis Joyce of South Boston, Eileen Hansen of Bourne and Joseph Joyce of Manomet; and his friends, Edward "Rubbie" Roberge of Weymouth and Patricia Kane of South Boston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
