It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ursula J. Matthes of Weymouth, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James FitzGerald and Florence FitzGerald of Malden; and her brother James FitzGerald (Gerald FitzGerald) of Quincy. She is survived by: her spouse Francis Matthes; her sister Jeanne Smith of Tucker; her children, Paul (Betsy) of Antrim, NH, Patricia Pelosi (Michael) of Wilmington and Linda DelVecchio (David) of West Yarmouth; and her grandchildren, Cheryl Matthes (Aaron Hyer), Christina Moore (Joseph), Daniel DelVecchio (Margaret), Matthew DelVecchio and Michael Pelosi. She is also survived by her family and many friends.
A Mass was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (1203 Commercial St, Weymouth, MA 02189).
