It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virginia Gomez of Weymouth, Massachusetts, born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on August 16, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sons, Amos "Sinbad" Gomez Jr. and Alfred "Freddie" Gomez; and her siblings, Alfred Lopes Jr., Delphina Tavares and Manuel "Manny" Lopes.

She is survived by: her granddaughter Lisa Connor (Sean) of Hull; her great grandchildren, Sean Michael Connor and Trevor Connor; her daughter-in-law Ruth Gomez of Weymouth; and her siblings, James "Louis" Lopes, Robert Lopes, Edward "Rudy" Lopes, Priscilla Roderick and Frances Cardoza. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
