He is survived by: his wife Wendy Thompson (Widing) of Wheelwright; his children, Jason Thompson of Barre and Joie Dion (Chris Dion) of Barre; his grandchildren, Tyler, Conor, Sam, Morgan and Lily; his siblings, Bonnie Whigham (Thompson) of Auburn, MA and Orville "Sam" Thompson (Ruth (Klem)) of Wheelwright, MA; and his pet Charly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pillsbury Funeral Home (96 S Barre Rd, Barre, MA 01005).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Red's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Cancer Research or Second Chance Animal Services in East Brookfield, Massachusetts.
