He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Bonaventure Hanegan and Lucy Idell Daley Hanegan; his grandchild Pacqstan Bridegam; and his siblings, Catherine Smith, Joan "Jo Ann" Norsworthy, Richard "Bonny" Hanegan, Malachy Hanegan, Stanley Hanegan, Charles Hanegan and Helen Reed.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Hanegan (Wojciechowski); his children, Sheila "Denise" Bridegam, Denis Hanegan Jr., Richard Hanegan (Paulina), Deborah Tetreault (Louis) and Karen Hanegan; his grandchildren, Crystal Bridegam, Cheryl Baranow (Bryan), Nicole Tetreault, Daniel Tetreault and Richard "Ricky" Hanegan II; his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Mason Bridegam; and his siblings, Joe Hanegan, Lawrence Hanegan, Ralph Hanegan and Bernice Daley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
