Joan will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Joan by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Joan is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Joan’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman P. Eisenhaur and Beulah N. Eisenhaur (Eastman); her husband Edward "Eddie" A. Downs; and her sister Helen Weaver (late Merle). She is survived by: her children, Edward A. Downs, Jr. of Tewksbury, Shelly L. Cunha (late Joseph) of Tewksbury and Chad A. Downs (Michelle) of Chelmsford; and her brother Donald Eisenhaur (Nancy) of Maine. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nichols Funeral Home (187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
