She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Whittier and Eva Whittier of Everett; her husband William J. Somerville; her grandson Frederik DeAngelo; and her brothers, Sumner Gage Whittier and Robert Whittier.
She is survived by: her great great grandchildren, Jameson, Lilah, Finn, Adeline, Luke, Sofia and Kaia; her daughter Mona C. DeAngelo; her grandchildren, Lisa Carroll, Brenda DeAngelo, Michael, David, Beverly, Daniel Gentile, Robbin Favaloro, Andrew, Heather, James, Philip, Lauren O'Donoghue, Leonard DeAngelo, Gary DeAngelo and Thomas DeAngelo; and her great grandchildren, Frederik and Nicholas DeAngelo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She once proclaimed on a local newscast that she planned to "go wild" after the pandemic.
