It is with sadness that the passing of Sonja M. Carlson of Wilmington, Massachusetts is shared. Sonja, born on June 22, 1935, passed away on September 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl N. Christiansen and Anna Lisa Barbour (Anderson); her husband Richard M. Carlson; and her sibling Lennart Christiansen. She is survived by: her grandsons, Cody and John; her daughters, Susan Carlson, Sally Carlson, Janet MacLean (Dennis), Karen Baker (Stephen) and Sonja Halliday (Daniel); and her sibling Larz Christiansen.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Nichols Funeral Home (187 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, MA 01887). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial donations in Sonja's name being made to the Town of Wilmington, Attn: Veterans Services, 146 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA 01887, to support servicemen and women and her grandson, Cody Halliday, who is currently deployed.
