He was predeceased by: his parents, David Burns and Martha Burns (Micalizzi); and his granddaughter Hannah N. Burns. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Burns (Panetta); his son William E. Burns, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Suzanne Burns; his daughter Amy Brown; his brother David J. Burns, Jr.; his sister-in-law Nancy Burns; and his grandchildren, Sydney L. Colburn, William T. Burns, Steven A. Brown, Ellie G. Burns and Jane B. Burns. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters in law, nieces, and nephews.
