It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Avola (Winchester, Massachusetts), born in Boston, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Rita has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elena Antonolio (Cianfrocca) and Carlo Antonolio; and her husband Cologero "Charlie" Avola. She is survived by: her children, Charles "Chuck" Avola (Cheryl) of Northbridge, RitaEllen Kaulbach (Andy) of East Andover, NH, Carl Avola (Susan) of Lunenburg, Stephen Avola (Helena) of Beverly, Richard Avola of Clinton and Michele Pasciuto (Carl) of Woburn. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lane Funeral Home (760 Main St, Winchester, MA 01890). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. Mary's Church (155 Washington St, Winchester, MA 01890).
In lieu of flowers donations in Rita's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
